Where People Matter

Get ready to chill with Netflix! Three engaging teasers were launched to give an insight into their calendar for the year 2021. The OTT platform has an eclectic mix of stories from across the genres like – drama, love, romance, suspense, and horror.

Surprisingly, Netflix regulars like Radhika Apte and Nawazuddin Siddiqui seem to be missing from the list this time. However, the likes of  Kartik Aryan, Kiara Advani, Tapsee Pannu, and Sanya Malhotra will be seen in multiple outings. I am equally excited to see Madhuri Dixit, Pooja Bhatt, and Raveena Tandon in their digital debut.

Here’s my must-watch list from the long list of 40 titles:

Pagglait

Starring Sanya Malhotra this one looks pure fun. Story of a new widow, she is not able to cry and others are not letting her laugh. I like the irony.

Dhamaka

Only because I want to convince myself that there’s something big about Kartik Aryan’s screen presence.

Delhi Crime Season -2

Shefali Shah returns as Vartika Chaturvedi to unfold yet another crime.

Masaba Masaba

Frankly speaking, I loved the mother-daughter outing in the first season. Masaba was a pure delight on screen.

Decoupled

There’s something about R Madhwan, here he will be seen with Surveen Chawla as an estranged couple based in Delhi.

Big Day Collection Season 2

I love all things bling and this one is all about jazz and chutzpah of Indian weddings. Totally look forward.

Kapil Sharma Special

Kapil Sharma makes his digital debut with this unique collaboration. Though the format of the show is still not been disclosed.

Bombay Rose

A festival favorite, this is a hand-painted animation film, created by award-winning animator Geetanjali Rao. This is a love story between two dreamers who will be tested against the realities of the multifaceted city called – Mumbai.

Ray

Actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Gajraj Rao, Kay Kay Menon, and Radhika Madan will be seen in an anthology series based on the works of filmmaker Satyajit Ray.

In India, Bollywood is no less than a religion for us. But I always feel, there was a huge gap that Netflix, as a streamer could fill. Directors like Anurag Kashyap could be freed from the clutches of conventional Bollywood. That kamsin phool made way for Kukku’s magic (from Sacred Games). Even simple stories like Masaba Masaba won hearts without much drama.

Absolutely looking forward to all the fresh offerings from the #AbMenuMeinSabNewHai !
