In the human world, the utility of robots has been experimented with for years. The issue of cutting-edge AI has also sparked debates on whether artificial intelligence will replace human capabilities. In such a scenario, directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Shah bring a love story between a robot and a human. This duo raises the question: can a robot, despite being perfect in every way, replace a human in everyday life? This theme has been explored in various films, be it Bollywood or Hollywood, with movies like “Robot,” “Love Story 2050,” “Her,” and “Ex Machina.” The directors blend love, romance, drama, and music into the story, albeit with some logical gaps.

The Story of “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya”:

The story revolves around Aryan (Shahid Kapoor), a robotics engineer, who is tasked with finding a girl for marriage. Despite being from a respectable family, Aryan struggles to find a suitable match. Meanwhile, his aunt Urmila (Dimple Kapadia) calls him to America for a project. Urmila, the owner of a robotics company, has been experimenting with various types of robots for years, aiming to create a perfect robot that can surpass humans. She assigns Aryan to take care of Sifra (Kriti Sanon), a robot.

Aryan starts falling in love with Sifra after seeing her many qualities. However, the twist in the story comes when he discovers that Sifra is a robot. Despite knowing this, he can’t suppress his feelings. He somehow convinces his aunt to send this beautiful robot to India to test her in a human environment. Aryan is determined to marry Sifra. He introduces her to his family without revealing her true identity. Will Aryan’s family find out that Sifra is a robot? Will they approve of their marriage? All these questions are answered as the story unfolds.

Review of “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya”:

Directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Shah present a contemporary issue amidst the era of AI, where artificial intelligence poses a threat in professional life. When AI is on the rise, the idea of experimenting with a robot as a life partner rather than a human girl brings a modern twist to the narrative. While the directors successfully blend family entertainment with romance-comedy, the establishment of a robot in a familial setup lacks depth. The story takes time to develop, but it eventually intertwines various entertaining sequences.

The movie provides laughter and entertainment in many parts, but it becomes predictable towards the end. The climax feels rushed, leaving much to be desired. With better writing, the film could have been exceptional. Regarding music, songs like “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” “Gulab Ankhiyan,” and “Red-Yellow Eyes” are hits, and watching Shahid and Kriti dance to these tunes is delightful.

Speaking of performances, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s pairing feels fresh. Seeing Shahid in a romantic role after a long time, away from intense characters, will surely please his fans. He portrays his character with his unique style. Kriti looks exceptionally beautiful on screen and executes the role of a robot beautifully. The chemistry between the two shines through. Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia do justice to their roles. Supporting cast members like Rakesh Bedi, Grusha Kapoor, Mahi Raj Jain, Rajesh Kumar, Ashish Varma, among others, contribute well to the film.

Overall, “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” offers a contemporary take on relationships amidst the AI era, but it falls short of being a masterpiece due to its predictable narrative and rushed climax. Nonetheless, it provides moments of laughter and entertainment, making it a decent watch.
